What to include in a 30-day business operations plan
Keep the first plan small enough to use.
A 30-day plan should focus on a few changes that remove a visible business problem. It is not a complete strategy document.
Include five things
- Problem: the specific delay, risk, cost or customer issue to improve.
- Priority: the few actions that matter most this month.
- Owner: one person responsible for each action.
- Deadline: a visible date for completion or review.
- Measure: a simple way to tell whether the change helped.
Review weekly
Use a short weekly review to mark completed work, remove blockers and adjust the next actions. At day 30, decide what should become a standard process, what needs another cycle and what should stop.
